President, Integrated Systems Division
Doug is low voltage. Doug started his professional career in the security and fire alarm industry in the early 1980s, but he has literally been in the low voltage industry his entire life. In 1969 Doug's father opened a security and electrical installation company, so Doug was presented with an early opportunity to work in low voltage starting with his secondary school years.
Doug is President of RMI Systems, a Rex Moore company, where he leads a team of professionals specializing in the design, engineering, installation, and servicing of fire alarm life safety, intrusion alarms, access control, and security camera systems. Doug has participated and been involved with Underwriter Laboratory's UL 864 Committee, Fire System Suppression Association's Detection Application Technical Committee, and NEMA's Building Code Committee. Project involvement ranges from residential automation systems, office buildings and mixed used facilities to high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, and complex integrated police and city facilities.
From 1993 to 2000, Doug worked for two international security and fire alarm manufacturers. Gaining hands on experience with manufacturers further increased Doug's knowledge of data protocols, communications, and seamless interoperability of systems across many technological platforms. Doug continues to be a proponent of open architecture low voltage systems and works closely with Rex Moore's security and fire alarm strategic partners.
Doug is an avid sportsman and enjoys fishing and camping with his family in Northern California. He is also a semi-professional foosball player, loves riding dirt bikes in the desert with his son and vacations at the beach with the family.
